Half-plate daguerreotype in oversize leather case of a portrait bust of the Biblical scholar Andrews Norton (1786-1853), probably sculpted by the artist Shobal Vail Clevenger (1812-1843), circa 1840. The photograph was taken by an unknown photographer between 1850-1854. Enclosed is a note in an unknown hand identifying the photograph.
